Magic, Miracles and Synchronicities: Birthing the Sanctuary of the Feminine

It’s a journey that continues to unfold, but I’ll start at the beginning, in Glastonbury, UK on September 21, 2021. I was sitting in the Goddess Temple meditating when I had a thought, or perhaps divine idea, pop into my head, ‘you could create a Goddess Temple like this in Calgary’. It wasn’t so much a command as a rather intriguing thought.

On April 2, 2022, I had the first of three dreams over three nights with vivid details about building a Goddess Temple. Now, if you know me, you know that my dreams have been invaluable in my healing journey.

My interest and attention were piqued.

I immediately began noticing spaces for rent near parks in the city as the dreams showed a place that was connected to nature, but somehow it didn’t feel right.

I set an intention to find the next bread crumb on this mysterious journey and created a council of women to assist me in clarifying and guiding the manifestation of my dream. Cause, really, who wants to create alone when you could create with a group of women instead!

Together we envisioned and talked about what a Goddess Temple would look like and the function it would serve.

This sharing led to an invitation to look at a piece of land near Bowden. I casually mentioned my field trip to a friend, who asked to come along for the ride.

The land was very interesting and I experienced a huge heart opening and visions while there, but it didn’t feel resonant as the land for the Goddess Temple.

This particular friend, being very spiritually connected and intuitive, suggested that we explore our connection to the Bowden land further. She sensed there was something more for us to discover.

At her home the following week, she handed me a sheet of paper and grabbed a book from the bookshelf to write on. She instructed me to ask questions and write down the intuitions and guidance I received and then we would compare notes.

Having never done anything like this before and throwing caution to the wind, I jumped in with both feet. Near the end of the exercise, I wrote ‘Next steps:’ on my paper and drew a symbol. Apparently I didn’t say this out loud as my friend didn’t have this prompt on her paper when we compared notes.

It would turn out that the symbol I wrote down would become an integral part of the magic that would unfold! While my friend went to make tea for us, I became curious about he book I was using as a flat surface on which to write. Yes, the one she had randomly chosen from the bookshelf before we began our channeling exercise. I opened the book to a random page and to my surprise, saw the symbol; the one I  had drawn after the words ‘next step’.

What?

With raised eyebrows, I began to really pay attention to this synchronicity. You may think it was coincidence, but I calculated the chances of my writing down a random symbol and then opening the random book from the bookshelf to the page with the SAME symbol to be 100 quadra-bazillion to 1.

Truly.

The book was called ‘The Book of Enoch’, and the symbol represented “The Hierarchy of Our Father Universe”.  

Ummm…. ok.

My friend returned with the tea and I showed her what I had drawn and the symbol I found in the book.  She told me that Enoch was a prophet in the Bible and then exuberantly exclaimed, “oh my God, the painting!”

I said, “what painting?” having no idea what she was talking about. She left the room and came back with a painting and told me that she had purchased it for her sister-in-law, but that she thought perhaps it was meant for me instead.  

I went home feeling a mixture of excitement, awe, and frankly confusion about what had just happened. This is a photo of the painting.

A few days later, she called me and confirmed that her sister-in-law thought the painting was for me.  So I purchased it and hung it prominently in my office. With an abundance of curiosity, I called the artist, Lisa Kubik, to ask her about the origin of the painting. To my surprise, she said it was based on the map of the universe from the Book of Enoch.

What?

If you’re keeping track, here’s how it went down:

My friend hands me a paper and pulls a book off the bookshelf to write on

I wrote down a symbol I received while ‘channeling’ answers to questions

I opened the book I was using as a flat surface on which to write to the EXACT page where I see the same symbol

My friend just so happens to have a painting she just picked up, the inspiration for which was the EXACT page in the EXACT book that I was using as a flat surface on which to write.

This synchronicity got my attention!

I wondered if, perhaps, the symbol, the painting and synchronicity of it all had something to do with building the Goddess temple.  I had no idea of the importance until more than a year later.  

Meanwhile, at our July 2022 gathering of the women’s council, we envisioned that the goddess temple would be a sanctuary where women could gather to honour the feminine principles, discover truth, and connect deeply to themselves. We ‘saw’ it being located in nature with flowing water, trees and flowers.

Over the following months, we clarified our vision and changed the name from Goddess Temple to Sanctuary of the Feminine.

Then it got even more interesting …

In July 2023, I was intuitively guided to look at Real Estate listings outside Calgary and I got a big intuitive hit on a property between Water Valley and Cochrane. I phoned the listing agent to request a viewing and we went to see it on our way home from a family trip to Banff.

As we drove closer to the property, I knew this was the land that had been calling me to create the Sanctuary of the Feminine. I could feel it in my bones!

The property had a small cabin and a barn with a room on top. When I opened the door to that room, I realized it was the EXACT SHAPE that I recorded in my journal from my initial dreams in 2022!

As if this wasn’t enough synchronicity already, here’s the real property report. Notice anything about its shape? … it’s a triangle!  Just like the painting and the symbol I intuitively drew!

It is close to the city but tucked away at the end of a road so it is incredibly quiet and peaceful; exactly matching the vision and intention that I set months prior.

I was blown away, amazed, in awe and felt so much gratitude!

My offer was accepted and I took possession on September 28, 2023.

The Sanctuary of the Feminine was born of love, vision, synchronicity, trusting, listening deeply to my inner knowing, and being present to the guidance of spirit.

-private and remote

-nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains

-an easy and beautiful drive from the city

-a perfectly magical and healing place for women to gather

I continue to listen deeply to the land and know that the Sanctuary will evolve.
